We’re participating in Oregon Battle of the Books
We are excited to announce that Sisters Elementary School will again be participating in the statewide Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB) reading competition for students grades 3 to 5!

A letter to parents...

Dear Sisters Elementary Families,

I’m excited to share that our school will again be participating in the Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB) — a statewide reading competition for students in grades 3–5.

What is OBOB?

OBOB is a fun, team-based reading competition where students read from a selected list of books and then answer trivia-style questions about them. It encourages a love of reading, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. Participation is optional.

How it works:

  • Students form teams of 2-4 (with an optional alternate)
  • Each team reads from a list of 16 OBOB-selected titles.
  • In the winter, teams will compete in school battles to test their knowledge.
  • The winning team from our school will have the chance to move on to regional and state competitions!

The 2025-2026 book collection will be available for students to borrow from our library. You can also listen to the audiobooks for free via our library app Sora (see attached page). In the coming weeks we will cover more details about how to form a team, sign up, and prepare for battles.

📬 Please watch for updates coming home with your child and via ParentSquare.
